April 3 - 5, 2016

Sunday, April 3 - Tuesday, April 5, 2016

Lack of internet service kept us from posting pictures the past few days but we have continued to see more and more of our beautiful USA!!  I told someone, Alan and I feel like it is like Christmas morning everyday; we wake-up very excited to see what "gifts" our country has in store for us!

Grand Canyon, Sunday, April 3
You will have to zoom out the pictures to read the sign boards.

First thing we see are deer playing!

Good Bye, beautiful Grand Canyon!

After leaving the Grand Canyon we are now
driving to Bluff, UT for a over night stop.  The next pictures
were taken as we passed through Cameron, and Tuba City via
US 89 and US 160.

Now on US 163 driving through Monument Valley
and the Valley of the Gods.

Now we are in Utah.

Still driving through Monument Valley
and the Valley of the Gods.

Went through a town called Mexican Hat!

Mexican Hat is named for a 2,500-ton boulder that resembles a sombrero!

This is the Sombrero!

Almost to Bluff, UT

Twin Rocks, in Bluff, with the Twin Rocks Diner below!

Lucky for us the owner of the restaurant  where we had dinner
in Bluff told us about the next two stops!

Back on US 163 called the Trail of the Ancients,
going to Goosenecks State Park.

This was a beautiful hidden gem!

Lots of open ranges in this area.  Cows are
free to roam anywhere.  This Mama and her
babies did not appreciate us running them
off the road.

What a look they gave us!

Didn't know the back road from Goosenecks
would bring us this fun- but boy did we love it!
This is called the Moki Dugway, because it was a road from
an old mining company.  No guardrails and  part of it was
a gravel road.

Arriving Natural Bridges National Park.

This last bridge had a great hike down to the bridge and the San Juan River!

Picture before the hike.

Playing with the camera timer after the hike.  School bus
full of kids at the river edge having a picnic.  So we did not go all the way
down to the water.

This slide area was across from the park entrance.  Adults and
children were rolling down this dirt hill right to the highway's edge.
Yuck!!!!

This one was called Park Avenue! :)  What skyscrapers huh!

This is called The Gossips!

Balancing Rock

One of the Arches.

Our stop for the night!

  1. Teri and Alan, we didn't get to see Goosenecks State Park, Wow! And I can see you loved Arches! Hope you didn't stay at the B&B (double-widetrailer) we stayed in Escalante. Just found our photo book and will share with you over a glass of wine soon. Alice
